ಈ ಘಟನೆ ಆಂಧ್ರಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಕರ್ನೂಲ್ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದಿದೆ. ಕರ್ನೂಲ್ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಅಡೋಲು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಟೂಟೌನ್ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣಾ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಪಾರ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ನಗದು ಕಾಣಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಬೀರುವಿನ ಲಾಕರ್‌ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದ 5.63 ಲಕ್ಷ ರೂ. ನಾಪತ್ತೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಲಕ್ಷ ಲಕ್ಷ ನಗದು ನಾಪತ್ತೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಕೂಡ ಬೀರುವಿಗೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾನಿಯಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಬೀಗಗಳು ಇದ್ದಂತೆಯೇ ಇದ್ದುದ್ದರಿಂದ ಇದು ಹೊರಗಿನವರ ಕೆಲಸವಲ್ಲ, ಠಾಣೆಯ ಒಳಗಿನವರ ಕೆಲಸ ಎಂದು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ವೇಳೆ ತನಿಖೆ ನಡೆಸಿದಾಗ ಬೀರುವಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಹಣವನ್ನು ಗೃಹರಕ್ಷಕ ದಳದ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಯೇ ಕದ್ದಿರುವುದು ಬೆಳಕಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿದೆ.
