ಶೇ.12ರಷ್ಟು ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಜನಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳೆದ 15 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಯಾವುದೇ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಸಂಸದರು ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. 2004ರಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲಬುರಗಿಯಿಂದ ಇಕ್ಬಾಲ್‌ ಅಹ್ಮದ್‌ ಸರಡಗಿ ಗೆದ್ದಿದ್ದೆ ಕೊನೆ. ಅದಾದ ಬಳಿಕ ಯಾವ ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಸಂಸದರು ರಾಜ್ಯದಿಂದ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಅದಲ್ಲದೇ ಮೂರು ಪಕ್ಷಗಳು ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಸಮುದಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಟಿಕೆಟ್‌ ಅನ್ನು ನೀಡಿಲ್ಲ.

ಈ ಸಲ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್‌ನಿಂದ ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಮುಖಂಡರು ಒಂದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಟಿಕೆಟ್‌ ಪಡೆಯುವ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ, ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್‌ ಒಂದು ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತ್ರ ಟಿಕೆಟ್‌ ನೀಡಿದೆ. ಎನ್‌ಡಿಎದಿಂದ ಯಾವುದೇ ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿಗೆ ಟಿಕೆಟ್‌ ಅನ್ನು ನೀಡಿಲ್ಲ.
